Young Devyn talks about latest project "Baby Goat", Trini Roots, Mental Health + more.

This month is Caribbean Heritage Month and it’s only right we highlight Brooklyn and Trinidadian rooted artist, Young Devyn. At just age 19 she has been making her mark on the music industry. When she began music at the age of 7. She was creating various soca songs and performing alongside soca greats like Machel Montano.



“Me being Trinidadian is like one of the biggest influences of my artistry, it sets me apart.”


Pushing forward to the present day Devyn has moved into the rap scene while still adding that island flavor to her sound. In her latest project Baby Goat, we are introduced to these sounds as we hear her dynamic flow in songs like “Act Bad” as well as her Caribbean influence in songs like “Secret.”


We spoke with Devyn during UMG 1824’s press conference about how impactful Caribean culture has been for her as an artist, mental health + more.
